Cascade as Described in 1937 [1]

Cascade is the seat of Valley County and a microcosm of Idaho's past and present. All the industries, including lumbering, mining, agriculture, and stock raising, are apportioned to this town and its valley as perhaps in no other part of the State; and so in miniature is afforded a composite picture here of most of what Idaho has to offer. Northward is one of the principal resort areas; roundabout are a rich valley, a tremendous forest, and outlying mines; and eastward a vast playground.

State Route 15 South goes through a narrow valley which in summertime is meadowed with wild flowers, with the blue Camas usually conspicuous; and then along the North Fork of Payette River, lazily serene in this stretch.
