Neighborhoods

Originally named Jacksonburg, the town of Nashville was founded in 1836 by a county land agent named Banner C. Brummet. A county courthouse was built in 1837 and the town was officially incorporated in 1872. The town is noted for the Brown County Art Colony (Brown County Art Guild) which dates to the early 20th century.
