The City of Grand Island is located in Hall County in central Nebraska. It is the fourth largest city in the state with an area of 21 square miles and is located 100 miles west of the City of Lincoln, the state capital. It is accessible to traffic from I-80; US Highways 281, 30 and 34; and NE Highway 2. Since its incorporation in 1872, the City of Grand Island has continued to grow as a center of tourist attractions, trade center and employment opportunities. The city is known as the retail hub of central Nebraska, with 60% of retail sales coming from outside Grand Island.
