A town situated on the west side of the Kishacoquillas Creek and stretches along that stream and the old Lewistown and Kishacoquillas turnpike toward Jack's Mountain for more than a mile. Many of the residents find employment at the large industrial plants in the vicinity. It more properly derives its name from the several families named Yeager than from any individual bearing the name, unless it be called for Jacob Yeager, who with his wife and eight sons and one daughter came to the place from Dauphin County in 1842 and purchased the mill property and fifty acres of land belonging at that time to John Oliver, Jr. It was made a post office in 1870.
