It’s divided into two main sections—Forest Lakes North (development began 1989) and Forest Lakes South (began 1993)—further segmented into smaller neighborhoods, often featuring cul-de-sacs with homes of similar size and style. The community is managed by the Forest Lakes Community Association (FLCA), which oversees common areas and enforces covenants.

North section started in 1989, South in 1993. The community surrounds the older Hollymead subdivision (1970s).
