Grantville was a settlement and a railroad station (established in 1761). The first settler in the area was Elijah Grant who was born in Litchfield in 1728 and settled in Norfolk in 1761. The prolific Grants were perhaps the most important family in the southern part of Norfolk during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. [1]
