Palm Harbor is an unincorporated residential area north of St. Petersburg. Palm Harbor Zip code is 34683.

Palm Harbor as described in 1939 [1]

Palm Harbor is surrounded by orange and grapefruit groves, with windbreaks of Australian pines. Roadside stands sell orange and wildflower honey taken from rows of white beehives in the groves. Remnants of boom-time boulevards and palm plantings can still be seen. The town was founded as Sutherland by real estate promoters during late 1880s in anticipation that the Duke of Sutherland, then living on Lake Butler, would lend financial support; but the noble exile failed to respond. Sutherland was the original site of Sutherland College, later Southern College, since removed to Lakeland.
