The Pamlico County Manager's office is located at 202 Main Street, Bayboro, NC 28515; phone: 252-745-3133.

Pamlico County was created in 1872 from parts of Beaufort and Craven counties.

According to the 2010 census, at slightly more than 13,000, Pamlico County's population was smaller than many small towns.

Pamlico County possesses one of the last untouched areas of coastal wilderness in North Carolina as well as the east coast. These assets are something to be proud of and should be shared with visitors in a way that embraces environmental, historical, and cultural sustainability. There are very few places like Pamlico County that still have many miles of undisturbed coastal resources. Pamlico County is rich in agriculture and aquaculture history, including the first residents of Native Americans. [1]
