Nixonton

Formerly an incorporated town, Nixonton is now an unincorporated community.

Nixonton is an unincorporated community and the site of the first settlement in Pasquotank County, being laid out around 1746. It was incorporated as a town in 1758 and served as the county seat from 1785 to 1799. – www.co.pasquotank.nc.us, accessed September, 2011.

The area is also referred to as Nixons Town and/or Windmill Point.
