Neighborhoods
The Borough of Mount Arlington is 2.9 square miles along the southeastern shore of Lake Hopatcong. While it was incorporated as a borough in 1890, development of the area as a summer resort had begun during the preceeding decade. Notable among summer residents was entertainer Lotta Crabtree, who lived at 33 Edgemere Avenue in the sprawling home (a combination of Stick and Queen Anne styles) designed for her by noted architect, Frank Furness.
