Neighborhoods
The village (as the town) was named for George Croghan, a soldier who distinguished himself in service during the War of 1812. Self-styling itself as being in the "Foothills of the Adirondacks, the area is popular for summer fishermen and campers, fall game hunters, and wintertime tobogganers. The border dividing Croghan and New Bremen towns runs east-west through the Village.
