Historic postal village named in honor of Lawrence Lawyer, one of the first settlers of the town. It's situated about 2 miles north-west of Cobleskill, and contains two churches, a school house, two saw mills, a blacksmith shop, a shoe shop and about 20 dwellings. [1]
