Glenside, a suburban town of Reading [note: now part of Reading] is situated in this district [originally part of Bern Township] immediately across the Schuylkill Avenue Bridge. Near it is the House of Good Shepherd, established by the Catholic Church in 1900 for the care of young girls. [1]
