Brown Township, 18254 Route 414, Cedar Run, PA 17727.
Phone: 570‑353‑2938.

Brown Township was named for Major General Jacob Brown of Bucks County, a hero of the War of 1812. It was erected May 3, 1815 from Mifflin and Pine Townships. Pine Creek, which divides the township, runs through picturesque mountain scenery which at one point reaches an altitude of 820 ft. above sea level. The first resident of the township was Jacob Lamb who settled at the mouth of Slate Run. For many years lumbering was the chief industry; millions of feet were taken from the territory surrounding Pine Creek. [1]
