The seeds of Holy Redeemer Hospital were sewn about 1924 when 12 sisters of the Holy Redeemer emigrated to America from Germany. Their religious order was founded by Mother Alphones Maria Eppinger in 1849. After settling in Meadowbrook the sisters began caring for the sick in their own homes. Their mission built St. Josephs Manor in 1934; a facility primarily for the care of older adults. Over the decades the mission of the sisters has expanded to include such programs as Project Rainbow (1986), a transitional housing progrm for women and their children.
