Blaine Township was organized in 1894, it's territory taken from Buffalo Township. Tiny Taylorstown (a National Register Historic District), bordering the Buffalo creek, is nevertheless the most-concentrated settlement within the municipality. The census of 2000 counted barely 600 residents in the entire township.
