Charlotte City Hall is located at 111 East Lawrence Avenue, Charlotte, MI 48813.

Three men, H.I. Lawrence, Townsend Harris and Francis Cochran, are credited with developing what was first the Village (incorporated 1863) and later the City of Charlotte (incorporated 1871). The city is named for Charlotte Bostwick, wife of an early land speculator (Edmond B. Bostick) from New York City. A short-lived automobile manufacturer (Dolson) operated here from 1904-1907. Upon the formation of Eaton County in 1837, Charlotte was designated the county seat.
