Arena

Middletown Town, Delaware County, NY

   

On the Delaware River in the western part of Middletown lies the village of Arena, formerly known as Lumberville, a name significant of the early industry of the place. In 1898 Arena had an M. E. Church, a large district school, a Grand Army Post, 3 general stores, 1 hardware store, and IOOF Lodge, a fire company, and two hotels. [1]
