The first homes in Meadowbrook began construction in 1928 on Avalon Drive. The land Meadowbrook tract had been purchased the previous year by the Kodak Employees Realty Company. Danbury Circle homes (aka South Meadowbrook) were built in the 1950s, the Peck Farm (Orchards), adjacent to Meadowbrook having been purchased for the expansion.
The neighborhood is located southwest of the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and South Winton Road.
