Beginnings [1]

Schaghticoke Village, early known as Schaghticoke Point, was incorporated by the name of Hart's Falls in 1867. It was a station stop on the Boston, Hoosac Tunnel and Western Railroad. In 1880 considerable manufacturing enterprises were being carried out and the population was almost 3,600 residents.
