Painters Crossing is a condominium development built circa 1975-1976. Interior living space ranges from approximately 700-1,400 sqft. with a median of approximately 1,000 sqft.

The name of the development likely derives from the intersection of Routes 1 and 202 which was known as Painters Cross Roads. Nearby was the Painter Homestead. Samuel Painter purchased a large tract of land in 1707. As the family grew, houses were added on the property. Painter family descendants occupied the land through the early 20th century.
