Highland Park is a residential neighborhood of detached singles, twins, and row homes built primarily from about 1900 through the 1950s. Median age is circa 1941. Median lot size is less than one-fifth of an acre. Located on northern edge of the neighborhood is the Parkview Station of SEPTA Route 100 light rail line that runs between 69th Street (a short distance east of the neighborhood) and Norristown Borough, the county seat of Montgomery County.

Highland Park is bounded by North Lynn Boulevard (west), North State Street (east), West Chester Pike/Route-3 (south), and the privately-owned McCall Golf and Country Club (north).
