The Doddridge County Courthouse is located at 118 East Court Street, West Union, WV 26456; phone: 304-873-2631.

Doddridge was established in 1845 from parts of Harrison, Lewis, Ritchie and Tyler counties. It is named for Philip Doddridge [1772-1832], an attorney and statesman who was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
