Hunterdon County courthouse is located at 65 Park Avenue, Flemington NJ 08822; phone: 908-237-5800. Population (ca. 2007) was approximately 129,000 residents with municipalities ranging from the smallest Stockton Borough (pop. 550) to Raritan Township (pop. 22,400).
Like neighboring Bucks County PA, across the Delaware, Hunterdon County is a wealth of documented historic resources that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. More than 3 dozen districts were identified in a 63-page pamphlet created in 2002 by the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission titled, Historic Sites & Districts in Hunterdon County, NJ., (www.co.hunterdon.nj.us, accessed June, 2006).
