Sylversmythe is a residential subdivision of detached, single family homes built during the 1980s. The development appears to have begun in the early 1980s and was then known as Fox Run. Early builders may have included Richard Zaveta. However, the majority of homes were built by Barness circa 1988-1989, and the combined development is generally known today as Sylversmythe. Some refer to the neighborhood as Fairwood. There appears to be disagreement among what comprises Fairwood, Lenape Village (nearby) Fox Run, and Sylversmythe.

Interior living space ranges from approximately 1,400 to more than 3,200 sqft. with a median of 2,300 sqft. Lot sizes range from just under one-quarter acre up to a full acre with a median of slightly more than one-quarter acre.

Access to the Sylversmythe neighborhood is from Park Avenue onto Fairbridge Road (East or West, the development straddles Park Avenue.)
