Brookside

Brookside is a residential subdivision just outside the Newtown Borough southwest boundary. It is comprised of both townhomes and detached units. Median lot size of detached residences is 0.2 acres. Interior living space ranges from 1,400 to 2,200 sqft. with a median of 1,700 sqft. Homes were constructed primarily from 1980 through 1984; median age: 1982.

Newtown Creek flows around the eastern border of the development and, we assume, was the influence for naming the community.

A homeowner association maintains an outdoor swimming pool among other recreational facilities.

Access to the Brookside neighborhood is from Barclay Street eastbound onto Whitman Drive.
