Park Town Estates (originally known as Riverdale) is a single family subdivision of approximately 110 residences which were built beginning cas 1961. Contiguous development into the early 1970s found the development becoming commonly known as Park Town Estates.
Original models were 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2-car garage. The Merion is a rancher, others are 2-story colonials. Lots range from approximately 1/3rd to 2/3rds of an acre. Intwrior living space ranges from approximately 1,500 to ore than 3,000 sqft. with a median of approximately 2,250 sqft.
Access to the original development is from River Road onto Richard Road. Floorplan/Model names and street names identified here are from the 1960s Riverdale builder brochure.
The original brochure claims a 33-acre park which apparently never materialized. However, within the extended neighborhood there is walking access to the Delaware Canal towpath, a 60-mile linear "park" and National Register historic resource.
