Neighborhoods

Organized in 1804 the most-populous early settlement was known as Criders Corners centered about the intersection of Dutilh Road and Old Mars-Criders Road. The township was named for the numerous cranberry bogs once found throughout the area, especially along the banks of Brush Creek.

The township is served by the Seneca Valley School District which also includes Callery, Evans City, Forward Township, Harmony, Jackson Township, Seven Fields, Lancaster Township and Zelieople.

The Cranberry Highlands Golf Course had been recognized by Golf Digest as "Pennsylvania's best municipal course."
